Monday Morning Poem: Memory

by Thomas S. Collier

So true, the matchless rose that shed

Its passionate fragrance yesternight.

Half-sensed, unvalued,— now, alas.

Seems doubly dear, since it is dead.

And never any equals quite

That perfect bloom which memory has.
